It was very fortunate that “Walking Bear” was on the bridge. The animation for Kukulkan seemed difficult and looked good. The basic plot seems a little too familiar.
If she must teem,
Create her child of spleen, that it may live
And be a thwart disnatur’d torment to her!
Let it stamp wrinkles in her brow of youth,
With cadent tears fret channels in her cheeks,
Turn all her mother’s pains and benefits
To laughter and contempt, that she may feel
How sharper than a serpent’s tooth it is
To have a thankless child!
King Lear Act 1, scene 4, 281–289
I like how this one starts out like the end of the episode. Even the music sounds like an ending. Seems like the average “find the cure” episode. A little grown up for a Saturday morning audience, but hay, that’s why those of us who like TAS do.
The first time (air date) we see a hollodeck… Er ah REC ROOM. And even the first time we see it, it’s messing up. It’s a simple episode, but not bad. It reminded me a lot of the comedy parts of the tribble episodes. Some of the art is simpler, like Scotty laying down in the corridor. That could have been any Redshirt and when Kirk is in the center seat and everything was shaking, it didn’t look like Shatner, as for the good stuff? The space scenes have been getting more and more complex. They look pretty good. Overall you can tell the animation cells are getting older as the buildup of dirt n scratches are almost becoming a distraction. Spock with raccoon eyes was funny.
Good show guys. I knew the BEM voice was gonna be the thing. This one would… have… done the same.
This one thinks Bem’s voice is silly and familiar. BEM means Bug Eyed Monster.
Preparing for Mission Log…
I have the DVDs but I’m watching it on netflix because it in HD there. It’s very clear. Shows all the fingerprints, dust dirt and mistakes. I’m in favor of going in and remastering it. I don’t think it will happen because of the small audience for this show. I always have wanted to go in and make The Slaver Weapon look better. I’m thinking Photoshop, Avid, and a lot of time would do it.
